View this post on Instagram For the first time in 37 years, this highly prominent home is available for sale. Widely known in the area as the ‘Pink House’, this elegant eight-bedroom house nestled on Albert Terrace, fronts directly onto Primrose Hill and helped inspire Dodie Smith’s ‘101 Dalmations’ that became a famous Disney classic🐶 For more information please contact us or follow the link in our bio (https://bit.ly/BEAlbertTerrace) A post shared by Beauchamp Estates (@beauchampestates) on Jun 22, 2020 at 8:13am PDT View this post on Instagram “Not long ago, there lived in London a young married couple of Dalmatian dogs named Pongo and Missis Pongo,” wrote Dodie Smith in the first line of her 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, which became a Walt Disney classic. The “modest but pretty” Victorian home in which they lived, with Mr and Mrs Dearly and two nannies, is thought to have been inspired by this eight-bedroom pink stucco townhouse. Built in 1847 for Charles Fitzroy, the third baron of Southampton, the 4,876 sq ft property has high ceilings, handsome plasterwork and stone fireplaces throughout. Smith lived on nearby Dorset Square and would pass by the Albert Terrace house on daily walks with her nine Dalmatians; an illustration from the first edition of her book bears a striking resemblance to its pillared entrance portico and glass-panelled front door. There are views across Primrose Hill — with its bougie delights and off-duty celebs — from the dinky roof terrace, plus a 50ft back garden for hosting summer soirees. With two reception rooms, three kitchens and a study, there’s plenty of space to WFH. Regent’s Park is near by; £8.95m with @beauchampestates.
